Gina is currently an assistant professor at the Pennsylvania State University in the Department of Chemical Engineering. She attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her S.B. in 2012 (Course X). She received her Ph.D. in chemical engineering in 2017 from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was in the group of Professor Enrique Iglesia (and a frequent presence at Berkeley Ironworks). In pursuit of gravity and higher summits, Gina moved to Switzerland in 2018, where she was a postdoctoral research fellow in inorganic chemistry in the group of Professor Christophe Copéret at ETH Zurich (with a six-month hiatus to chase her entrepreneurial roots and join a start-up in 2020).

Gina enjoys (trail) running, climbing, and reading. Since moving to State College, she has started gardening and wheel pottery.
